Resetting Student Passwords

You can reset one password or multiple passwords at one time:

 

1. Select Manage Students

2. Click ‘Manage Existing Students’ link

3. Enter student name and/or ID in boxes or use appropriate drop-downs to find your student/s

4. Click ‘Search’

5. Tick the check-box next to the student/s

6. Click ‘Reset Password(s)’. If multiple students are selected, a prompt will pop up which includes details around:

  • How many student passwords have been selected to reset
  • What the school-wide password is
  • When the students must login and change their password by

If a single student is selected, a message will appear, confirming that the password has been reset:

Is there a way that I can reset just the students in my school whose accounts are locked or expired?

1. Select Manage Students

2. Click ‘Manage Existing Students’ link

3. Select the ‘Please reset password’ option from the Password Status dropdown

4. Click ‘Search’

This will display only those students whose accounts are either expired or locked.

5. Tick the Select All box

6. Click ‘Reset Password (s)’

I have just assigned an onscreen test to my class; most of them have forgotten their passwords or have been locked out. How can I reset the passwords for this assignment?

1. Click ‘Manage Existing Students by Assignment’ link

2. Select the radio-button next to your test and click ‘Manage Students’

3. Click ‘Reset’ next to the student(s) whose passwords you wish to reset

4. Those students can now log on using their school-wide password and then change it when prompted.
